Letter from the editor,
Following the election and various political events, tension has turned into
a desire to take action for many. This action has given way to large scale movements across the U.S. People’s desire to speak up and to take action one way or another on movements such as Feminist Pro-Choice Movement, Black Lives Matter, Defend Science, Anti-Islamaphobia, and more, has turned into
a driving force in the art and design aspect of our culture.
Movement as discussed throughout Issue 11 of Zeromile Magazine applies to our response to conflict and our response to design and art processes that are interesting, useful, innovative, or socially valuable in this time. Movement can be political, educational, social, recreational, etc. It is up to designers, artists, and authors to utilize specific processes to reinforce action towards solving conflict.
